This change request (CR) is a Part A update to CR 6501. The purpose of this CR is to inform and instruct the Part A contractors, FISS and CWF, to process MSP claims found with the CARC 230 code as cited in the business requirements below.
BR 6501.5.3.1 informed FISS and the Part A contractors that the new error code 6818 should be placed in the override field on the detail line of the claim. Since FISS would not be able to determine which detail line caused the edit to reject, they would not be able to put the override on the applicable detail line.
