Bill Ulrich has more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry as a financial and Medicare consultant.    

Early in his career, Bill developed the technical acumen and expertise that have made him a sought-after healthcare consultant and speaker. Studying the intricacies of state reimbursement cost reporting in the Northwest, he became the acknowledged corporate Medicaid expert of the region.

Prior to founding CBSI in 1998, Bill was vice president of the consulting subsidiary of a national nursing home chain, where he directed the efforts of 43 experts who provided daily, comprehensive consulting services to 300 long term care facilities nationwide. He gave Medicare regulatory updates and spearheaded development of training programs about Medicare reimbursement, coverage, documentation, and rehabilitation management for administrators and senior management. This helped smooth the company’s tenfold expansion.

Bill has served and/or chaired numerous state healthcare association committees and currently serves on the American Healthcare Associaton's Finance Committee.  He has given dozens of day-long PPS and Medicare Billing updates and in-house presentations regarding PPS regulations and requirements, developed corporate compliance programs, and has conducted Medicare billing training seminars nationwide.

He has been an invited speaker for major state and national healthcare events, including AHCA’s 50th annual convention and trade show in Honolulu. Bill is a member of the advisory board for a national billing and coding newsletter and has penned several articles for state association newsletters. He publishes monthly regulations updates and wrote and published a comprehensive billing manual for longterm-care facilities.

Bill was recently appointed to the National Uniform Billing Committee to represent the American Healthcare Association. ​
