Evaluating Profits under PPS [Webinar – 90 minutes]
The participant will learn how to evaluate and manage costs under PPS. You will learn how to determine if your current contracts are costing you money and whether the Medicare PPS payment is covering your cost of care. We will present a variety of PPS costing strategies including pre-admission assessments and monthly analyses. We will not present a costing approach based on the Medicare cost report. We believe that if PPS costing is going to be accomplished, it needs to provide timely useful information for making operational decisions. Included in this discussion are contracting techniques along with pros and cons of each contracting strategy.
